Attorney Tina M. Patterson is a lifelong, native Detroiter with a passion and demonstrated commitment for helping others, particularly the most underserved and underrepresented members of our society. Professionally, she has represented clients facing misdemeanor criminal charges and has successfully cleared past felony convictions. Most recently, before founding her own practice, she served as a federal government attorney at the Social Security Administration, where she protected confidential claimant information and wrote hundreds of disability decisions for judges nationwide. In addition, Tina has volunteered her legal services by performing pro bono work in multiple legal services events, as well as serving as a volunteer attorney with Legal Aid Defender Association of Detroit.
Tina is also an active volunteer in her community. In 2015, she was elected to the Board of Directors for her nonprofit neighborhood organization, where she currently serves as Secretary of the association and Chair of the Membership Committee. Additionally, Tina serves as a partner (mentor) to a first grade student at her alma mater, Cornerstone School in Detroit, and has given speeches at community events on behalf of the school. Formerly, she volunteered as a tutor with the Detroit Public Library's Detroit Reads Adult Literacy program, as well as a bar exam tutor for the July 2015 Michigan Bar Exam through the Wolverine Bar Association's Minority Bar Passage Program.
Lastly, Tina enjoys reading and traveling and is the proud mother of a three year old daughter.
